DPS Text.

Writing For DPS.

After having to move back in with her father, the life of Anastasia has been very poorly reported. But I caught up with her in her father’s London (Holland Park) home.

So, Anastasia, what brought you back home?
Well it wasn’t really my choice to move back in with him, but I guess it was for my own good. When my mum died, I was 14; that’s when I began to go off the rails. I always wanted to be a musician, like my dad, but  the drugs were holding me back as well as not wanting to be a copy of my dad, I wanted to be individual. Everything happened so fast, getting noticed by Cherry Road Records and my mum dying. I began to mix with the wrong people; I was fed up of being daddies little princess.

When did your life start going down hill?
When I was about 16 or 17. I started drinking and stealing from dad’s bar. I was smoking anything I could get my hands on; I even did cocaine at one point. Going back to the previous question, that’s why I moved back home. I’m grateful because my dad helped me stop binging. If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t be have an album coming out. I might not even be here, who knows? I am grateful every single day I am here.

Tell me about your new album?
Toxic Waste is the most heart-felt album I have ever written. I wrote it when I was in the Dominican Republic, everywhere I went someone was trying to sell me hard core drugs which made me think back to that awful time when drugs were a big part of my life. Toxic Waste is about my battle with my demons. “Drugs are toxic, they’re just a waste.” The main reason I wrote this album is to tell anyone if you’re in a bad place you can get out of it, do seek help; that doesn't make you weak, it makes you stronger than those who don't.

So what does your dad think of your new album?
I hope he likes it. [laughs] He’s preparing for his tour, at the moment, so I don’t think he’s had much time to listen to it.

What do you think of your dad and what he does?
I think what he does is pretty cool. His music isn’t really my scene but I do like it. Him doing this is what made me want to be a musician. I loved going on tour with him and spending time in the bus with the band which lead me to want that for myself. He is my inspiration, my soul and my life.

How does this new album compare to your old one?
To me i think it is a lot more grown up than what it was because it did come out a few years a go and my listeners were all around my age so it is now like we are growing up together which makes me feel really connected to them and I hope they feel the same way about it. It is a big change from heavy rock to indie but i think they will understand the difference and hopefully embrace it. I also hope new listeners enjoy it as much as I do!

Do you think this album will open more doors for you?
I hope it does [laughs] I mean, it would be nice to get signed to a bigger record label; thinking of my future of course; Cherry Road is great and everything but world wide fame would be brilliant! Maybe this album will do that for me, I really hope that it does but we can only wait and see what happens can't we.

HIGHLIGHTED = PULL QUOTES.

Contents Page!

What I am not putting in my contents page.

I am NOT putting an 'editors note' in my contents page as Kerrang! is the only magazine I have looked at that has an editors note, personally I think it looks cheap and I am not directly following the conventions of Kerrang! as it is a combination of 4 different magazines, not just that one.

Photo Changes.

Photograph Changes.

As you can see my front cover picture does not match my plan, this is because the photographs I originally took my models were not looking at the camera. This caused me to have a different idea which lead to only 1 more photo shoot. I think my magazine is better than it would have been if I had used the pictures I was going to use!
